Through consciously deciding what you have in the space around you, can help enhance and grow your creativity. Creating your space to grow the creative mindset will give you your own little sanctuary to retreat to anytime you need to unwind.

It is important to consider the colours around you. Sometimes its hard to do, like if you’re renting. But simple plain colours are a good start. They are calming but they also allow the light to move in the space and as you work on any creative project, it feels better to be surrounded by the nature and light where you can.

That said, as the sun sets, you need to make sure your lighting works its best for you, LED lights and blue lights are the best for reading and working. If they’re too dull they can damage your eyes so be mindful of your lighting if you are going to work throughout the night.

Colours can stimulate different ideas and even inspire new ideas. You can bring in different colours at different times, like plants for some green, or place coloured blankets and cushions. You can make the space what you want it to be and what feels right for the types of projects you are working on.

Furniture is important to consider, where it is in your space envokes the feeling of being comfortable, and a space you want to spend time in. So have a comfy chair, have the cosy warm blankets, have the plain or fancy cushions, whatever makes the space something you want to be in and a space you can sit and be creative in.

An inspiration board on the wall could be in the form of a cork board, a white board, or a series of notes and affirmations to remind yourself of all the positivity around you. Put it somewhere you can see and somewhere you can look at and be uplifted.
